Silver Appleyard Ducks are a heritage breed of duck that is currently listed as threatened by the Livestock Conservancy. Not only are these cold hardy waterfowl wonderful foragers, but they are also excellent dual-purpose birds with high egg production and delicious meat. Unlike other breeds of duck, Silver Appleyards naturally have less fat with higher meat to bone ratio. This makes them a wonderful choice for roasting especially during the holidays.

We raise our Silver Appleyards on pasture with access to water and all the bugs and plants they can forage. Silver Appleyards are wonderful mothers and we try to allow ducklings to be hatched and raised by hens whenever possible.
